Arrival at Camp

Cat stared up at the blue farmhouse, then back at the scene around her. There was a field of strawberries (they were practically begging her to eat them, but she managed to restrain herself), a lake, a volleyball pit, and off in the distance, a very odd collection of buildings. Those buildings weren't even the weirdest things around here - she was still wondering if that dragon curled around that pine tree back on the hill was actually there.
  She sighed and climbed the steps to the porch, proceeding to the front door. She hesitated, then opened it.
  "Hello?" she called.

Syl sighed. After Daquiri, the new camper, she was free... A lot. She wouldn't't say this in front of her half-siblings, but she didn't feel like building anything. So after explaining to Chiron that the harpies were mistaking too many pets for half-bloods, she was about to go out of the Big House.
"Hello." a voice called.
Syl nearly jumped.
"Hi?" she meant to sound friendly but it turned up into a question.

((Edit: XD I accidentally spelled 'harpies' wrong. Actually my phone is crazy, with the auto spelling and all. It was spelled 'happiest'. xD))

Estelle was just getting out of the Big House and bumped into a girl. 'Hey,' she said, smiling. Probably new.

Cat opened her mouth, ready to respond to the "Hi?", when a girl ran into her.
 "Hey," the girl said.
 Cat looked warily at her. "Hi." She blinked, realizing she had no idea what else to say. She didn't even know what she was doing in this weird place. Hey, maybe that's a good place to start, she thought. "Where am I?" she asked the girl.

Syl looked out to see Estelle and the girl.
She sighed. "The satyr didn't tell you?"

Cat narrowed her eyes. "The... satyr...?" She wondered if there was some other meaning beyond 'goat/human hybrid' to satyr that she didn't know about. Either that or this girl was messing with her. Or perhaps she was just off her rocker. "I haven't encountered any satyrs," she said carefully, watching both girls' expressions.

Syl paused for a moment, not sure what to say. How had this girl found camp? Maybe something chased her here, or she just found it... Syl had never encountered demigods who stumbled upon camp.
If Syl tried to explain anything, it was doubtful that the girl would understand.
"It's... uh..." She glanced at Estelle for help. Syl wasn't the best at explaining.

The second girl, the one with wavy brown hair, seemed unsure of what to say. Neither party really understood what was going on, apparently.
"My mother, Ava Greyling, drove me here," Catryn said helpfully. "Saying something about how I'm supposed to be here..." she trailed off. "Do you know her?" she ventured.

Estelle sighed and motioned for her to sit beside her on the porch. 'Sit. I'll explain.'

Syl sighed in relief... but did Estelle know about the girl's mother or something?
Some kids in camp had been brought to camp by their mortal parents. Parents like that... they must have cared about their children a lot. Syl remembered her mother, sick.
She looked at Estelle, then suddenly remembered at the arena... a scary thought.

Cat sat down on the bench by the black-haired girl. She was quite curious, if she was being honest. What ties did these people have with her family? "I'm Cat, by the way. Catryn Greyling."

Syl stared at Estelle for a moment. Then she looked at Cat.
"Um... Yeah. I'm Sylvania, but uh... everyone calls me Syl." She said awkwardly. It was a habit of hers, saying umms and uhhs. Those slip before she could stop them.
"Do you know your father?" Syl asked, hoping she hadn't tugged on a personal memory or something. Some demigods had strong (negative or positive) terms with their godly parent.

Cat looked to the girl who introduced herself as Syl, hoping she didn't look as startled by the question as she felt. She averted her gaze, thinking of what to say. What could she say? She gritted her teeth and took a deep breath
"I don't know my father," she confessed, looking awkwardly at Sylvania. "He left my mother a long time ago."

Syl bit her bottom lip. Typical demigod situation... well, that happened to many. Guiltily, Syl was glad that her father hadn't left her...
Syl felt to guilty to sigh.
"Um, okay. Cat, your father is..." For a second Syl paused. "A god."
Well, she'd think Syl was crazy. Wacko.

Cat raised her eyebrows. Well, that settled it: she was in weird company. The surroundings were peculiar enough, but now the people in the place seemed just as bizarre, with their satyrs, and 'your father's a god'... Considering the part about the goat people, Cat could guess what they meant... She forced out the question.
"As in the Greek gods?"

'Yes. The Greek gods are real.' Estelle studied the girl. 'You're taking this awfully calm. Most of the new ones go berserk and try to attack me.' She said, twirling her dagger. 'We'll see who your dad is- he's bound to send a sign.'

Syl would've laughed if Cat hadn't been new.
"Do you have ADHD and/or dyslexia?" Syl asked. One more trait of being a demigod. Syl didn't have ADHD, which didn't make her the best warrior out there. She always wondered why she missed that... ability.

Cat shrugged at the black-haired girl's question. "Who said I believe you?" She wondered immediately if she had made a mistake by saying that, since the girl had a dagger. "I mean... I'm just not convinced. Yet." She bit back the question about what she meant by 'send a sign'. She didn't want to annoy them too much, especially if she was to stay here. It wasn't like her schools anymore, where she could leave behind the people she had made a bad impression on. Worry curled in her stomach.
She stared blankly at Syl then, completely thrown off guard. "How did you.... Y-yeah. I've got dyslexia and ADHD. How... Why are you asking that?"

'Most demigods have that. I have them too- our brains are hardwired for Ancient Greek, so that makes English awkward for us. The ADHD.. it gives you great reflexes in battle, which usually keeps us alive.' Estelle got bored of the knife and slipbed it into its sheath. 'I'm Estelle. Daughter of Athena.' Syl might want to introduce herself so she didn't include hers.

"Oh... Syl. Daughter of Hephaestus." She wiped her sweaty palms on the end of her shirt.
She wanted to ask Cat more questions, like any weird encounters, but she was afraid it might make her too nervous.

Cat stared at Estelle. She said it all so casually, yet it was all so impossible. Daughter of Athena? Daughter of Hephaestus? Cat knew her Greek myths well, and had found it all very fascinating, but for these people to claim that the gods of Mount Olympus were real... She felt a shiver run down her spine, despite herself.
"Prove it," she said to Estelle.

Syl wished that someone was here with 'superpowers'. The abilities Syl and Estelle had with half-god blood was just mental abilities, easy to pretend.
She fiddled with her bracelet.

Andrew walked in from Chiron's office where he was listening to music. He took a bite out of the apple he was eating and looked toward the trio. "Newbie? My names Andrew and I'm guessing you've already told her about the gods and crap?" He had her the proved it but he wasn't sure. "Sorry if you haven't. And if you have I'm a son of Harmonia. Goddess of harmony and crap..yeah very unbelievable. Which is why I'm guessing you are asking to prove it?"

He tapped into her emotions feeling inside of her brain. "A rare power of being a child of Harmonia is able to read and control all emotions. Normally we only get making others peaceful and everything but yeah. Right now you seem in disbelief but yeah your expression says that clearly. Would you like me to change your emotion to show you? Obviously some take a lot of practice and energy, like making a person fall in love or having them accept something they don't understand. He started to remember his first time coming here. Definitely a year to remember.

'Yeah or I could just tell her my iq.'Estelle grinned. 'Hey drew '
