Easton Cash

Post  eastoncash20 on Sun Mar 08, 2015 4:26 pm

name: Easton Cash

age: 13

god parent: Poseidon

mortal family: Tonya Cash and Scott Barton

years in camp: 1

history: Easton grew up with a nice mom and step dad in a small town in Tennessee, he had a good home, made good grades, and was a good baseball player. When Easton was 10, a strange man showed up at his house demanding Easton to come with him. Easton then ran inside to his parents for help, the strange man came into the house and turned into, what Easton would learn about later, a manticore. The manticore killed his step father and wounded his mother before she stabbed it with a celestial bronze dagger, before she died she told Easton, "You need to go to a camp at Long Island, New York to train so this doesn't happen to you again, and remember me and your step dad love you," then she died. He took some food and the dagger and set off for the camp, a couple weeks later Easton ran into a abandoned house and found two celestial bronze swords, later he would name them DeathStorm and SoulCutter, which could combine into a double sided sword, which he would name StormCutter. Two years later he found the camp and said, "This is it, Camp Half-Blood, this is now my home." He went to the camp where someone helped him and explained to him what this place was and what killed his family, he trained almost everyday and made some good friends in the Athena, Hermes, Hephaestus, and Apollo cabins, and made enemies in the Ares cabin. The day he got claimed, he killed 15 monsters, including the Minotaur, during a monster attack. After he defeated the minotaur he saw a strange light and looked up, there was a trident the symbol of Poseidon god of the seas.

physical appearance: Easton wears a navy blue hoodie, a green t shirt, blue jeans, and green, black, and grey sneakers. He has dark blonde hair, dark green eyes, and is sort of tan. He has a scar the shape of a x on his right arm, going from his forearm to his elbow. He's 5 ft. 6 in., has an average build, and is pretty good looking.

personality: Easton is care free and serious, yet he tends to jump into things but with a plan . He doesn't react well to bullies, that is why he has some but not all enemies in Ares cabin, he defends those who are bullied. He has a bad temper on him that can hurt himself and others. He is loyal to his friends and allies. Easton is social and talkative, he observant with every thing he sees he looks for weaknesses, strengths, and what the area looks like. Easton is a little mischievous, he likes to pull pranks every once in a while and joke around even if everyone is gloomy. Easton is smart yet he has some blonde moments, (no offense to blondes like me) and has more book smarts than common sense. Easton has another problem, anytime something reminds him of the day his parents died he freezes and has a freak out that nobody can pull him out of it until he unfreezes. That day he's parents died turned him into a stronger person later on.

fatal flaw: Easton has a problem with his temper. He can't tell right from wrong when he's mad, and he makes bad choices when he's mad. When he gets to mad he gets reckless and sometimes hurts his friends and himself, but if he's thinking clearly he can control it.

talents: Easton is really good at sword fighting and baseball. Easton can sword fight anybody at his level  and can hit ok and can catch fine.

weapons: two celestial bronze swords named DeathStorm and SoulCutter that can turn into two wrist watches, one to tell time and one to tell the date, and can also turn into a double ended sword named StormCutter.

other: Easton likes pizza, hamburgers, baseball, and country music

Well first off, limit your weapons. Because you basically have a magical Swiss army knife. Having two swords that connect is fine, but seeing as you already have two swords, any weapon beyond that gets to be excessive.

Keep in mind you've only been here a year. There's no way you can be this all-star and be able to beat more experienced campers with no problem, especially not if their parent is specifically the god of fighting. Along the same lines, defeating 50 monsters in a row is quite frankly, extremely unrealistic. Even if you were an experienced camper. Seeing as you apparently did that within your first year of training without any justification for it... I'm shooting that down.

Your personality feels lacking. It sums up, "hates bullies, bad temper, loyal." Do you joke around? Are you more of a wry and cunning or prefer to take things head-on? Keep in mind that the personality isn't just everything that is possible, but it's more of the norm for our character. For example, my character is extremely easygoing and tends to jump into things. However, that doesn't mean that he doesn't get angry and can't stop and come up with a cunning plan. It just means that he usually doesn't. By default, are you social and talkative? Or are you quieter? (I don't reccomend being a complete loner as this game revolves around interacting with other characters. If you're hiding in the corner with the express purpose of being alone, you're going to be left along and the topic stay stagnant.) Are you observant? Mischievous? Give me a bit more to work off of. Help me get to know Easton.

I didn't mean that he could fight the Ares cabin I just said he had enemies, and that knife is just like any other celestial bronze knife I didn't mean for it to sound like it was a magic knife and I had to redo this a whole lot because I had to turn off my computer a lot so that's why the personality was rushed and the amount of monsters I put originally was 15 and I wrote this so many times I forgot most of the original sorry about that.

It's fine, just edit it.
And I meant the fact that you already have, in essence, three different weapons. Adding the others is a bit much, even if it doesn't actually change into either of those configurations like it sounded.
15 is still a lot for a noob, try and keep in mind that monsters are serious business, and to beat 13 in a row is a specific challenge in the arena because it's hard to do. It's not just that you beat 15. It's that you beat 15 all in a row, if not at once. Especially when one of those is the Minotaur.
You need to be either extremely talented or extremely lucky to even survive it unharmed, but usually it's both. So one monster alone is a pretty big deal, and usually all that even a talented new camper can handle. Even experienced ones can have trouble.

You're also a bit of an all-star according to your talents, but you at least amended the swordsmanship to "on your level".
Then less seriously, what are you going to do with two wristwatches? Is it a new trend? lol. I don't actually mind it, I just found the thought of wearing two kinda funny. Are they beside each other or on each wrist? (lol that's not a serious critique, but you can answer if you like.)

whenever he fought them I just didn't add that he got hurt and the monsters were hellhounds and the minotaur and he got lucky, also he took them on one at a time. I am going to take the bow and arrows out and fix the rest and the watches are on each wrist.

While it's not necessarily bad that a character is good at a lot of things--mine is good at lots of random things, like rock climbing and horse-back riding and knife-throwing and general fighting--I don't see many faults to balance the awesomeness out aside from your temper. Like, my character Ri being good at anything is basically completely counteracted by the fact that she hates everyone and the world and is the basically the biggest b-word you will ever meet. And this also keeps her from being able to do lots of things, along with things she's just not good at in general. Your character appears to be nice and easy-going, book-smart, athletic, a great swordsman--basically everything. I'd either tone it down a bit, or give him some more detrimental qualities.

For one thing, it looks like he basically saw both his parents die right in front of him when he was what 9? That would be traumatic if he was an adult, but a nine-year-old could be seriously messed up from that, but yours seemed to just brush it off then up and leave to find camp. I think that experience should have more of an effect on him, as it could be really character-building.

Considering you have two swords that turn into a dual-bladed sword, you basically already have three weapons. You don't seem to be aware how useful one Celestial bronze sword is. You don't need a knife, so please take that out.

That's all I have to say. Fix those things up and you'll be done.

The first sentence of your personality section says that Easton is carefree and serious. That seems kinda contradicting. Aaand that's pretty much all I have to say.
