Charlie had never been a morning person.
So her initial reaction to the sunlight shining in her face was mostly to mutter a barely understandable complaint about the window being open and try to reposition herself on her bed.
Of course the light persisted, and the fact that it was colder than it should have been alerted the blonde that something wasn't quite right.
So she managed to open her eyes and regain enough mental capacity to at least see what was wrong, only to realize a certain fact.
Which was that she was NOT in fact in her cabin, and that both she and her bed had been relocated to the woods somewhere.
The child of Aphrodite wondered how someone had managed to get her bed out here without waking her up, all the while trying to figure out just who she was going to make pay for this.
Tony was one of the more obvious suspects, though several hermes campers also came to mind.
She noted she still had her blade, which had been  left at the foot of the bed, probably just so she wouldn't end up dead if she ended up running  into monsters the bracer had seemed a little weird to some campers, but she'd always liked the idea of the hidden blade. and it didn't weigh too much, as well as allowing her plenty of mobility.
So things could have been worse...why did she feel like she'd regret thinking that?

Laera glanced around from where she stood at the edge of the woods. She didn't want anyone to see her getting away, and luckily, few people got up this early. She saw some kids playing volleyball earlier, but they hadn't paid her any mind.
She had been thinking about this for a few days now. Her mind was set. She was busting out of this hellhole.
It was way too easy. She had originally planned to just walk down the main hill, because what did she care if the horseman or any of the other demigods saw her leaving? They didn't own her, they couldn't tell her what to do. However, the dragon posed a problem. Not that she was scared of it or anything. Of course not.
And she also had to consider now, the idea that someone might try to stop her, or tell her parents. She didn't care, of course, but it would cause unnecessary complications. So, better to sneak off discreetly.
Taking a deep breath, she traipsed into the forest.
Desperate times called for desperate measures, she thought grimly. Forests were gross. All the dirt, trees, bugs, annoying little woodland creatures... Ugh. Not to mention all the... beds?
Laera frowned to herself, then hurried over to get a better look. Surely she was just imagining it... But as she got closer, she realized it really was there.
"What the hell," she muttered to herself. And then she was surprised to note that there was a person actually sleeping in it. And she knew this person. "Oh, great." Charlie Gavin.

Charlie tried to rub the sleep from her eyes, she wasn't going to try to make her way back to camp just yet.
She was more worried about how she was supposed to get the bed back to camp, considering she wasn't capable of carrying the thing back. She'd likely have to leave it.beh
Charlie was contemplating the idea of possibly going back to sleep, she had yet to actually get out of bed, and had realized she would likely have to walk back to camp in her pajamas...and without shoes.
So the blonde really wasn't in any hurry to leave the comfort of her bed, even if it was in the middle of the woods.
She heard a voice behind her muttering something and turned around to see a familiar face.
The sight she saw was a girl obviously NOT dressed for being in the woods nor accustomed to said woods. She recognized Laera Alvin from their previous encounter a few days prior.
"Can't a girl sleep in peace around here?" She commented dryly. Then scrutinized the other girl again.
It looked like Laera was running off somewhere, but Charlie really doubted the girl knew what she had walked into. Especially seeing as how the other girl was unarmed.
It wasn't really her business though, so Charlie ignored that fact, besides maybe the rich girl simply had a hidden weapon.
"Don't suppose you come with coffee?" the short girl asked while giving the  taller blonde a hopeful look."
She definitely needed some caffeine right now.

Laera wrinkled her nose. She wasn't sure why Charlie was acting like everything about this was perfectly normal, unless she actually slept out here on a regular basis... Surely not.
Remembering their quarrel from the other day, she was expecting some hostility, and so, she was caught off guard when the shorter girl asked her hopefully for some coffee.
"Um... no," she replied. She wasn't sure why Charlie would expect her to bring coffee for her, so she decided that the girl probably just really wanted coffee. Well, some people needed their cuppa joe in the morning, just like her da-- erm. Just like Garrett.
A part of Laera knew she could invite her along--she was planning to hit the mall first, anyway, and there was always a Starbucks--but no, she was still pissed at Charlie Gavin. Especially since her friends in the Aphrodite cabin were giggling yesterday about some "secret romantic meeting" on the beach. There was no doubt that that was the fault of the girl in front of her. Laera spread rumours herself, yes, but God have mercy if she was on the receiving end. No, that was not okay.
"So, living out here among your own kind now, are you?" she asked condescendingly.

Charlie was disappointed at the lack of caffeine, but not really surprised.
It had mostly just been wishful thinking.
Still she felt it was was way to early for dealing with Laera's attitude. so she ignored the comment for now.
"There's a spider on your shoulder."
Charlie looked around the bed again to see if anyone had thought to leave shoes behind so she could walk back to camp. unfortunately it didn't  look like it, and she considered tricking the rich girl out of her shoes, then disregarded the idea.
While not a fan of Laera she didn't really feel like wasting any potential trust, little it may be that the other girl had for something so trivial.
"They could have at least left me some shoes." She muttered to herself a little too loud not that she noticed since she was busy planning vengeance anyway.

Laera let out a short scream, brushing frantically at her left shoulder, and then the other. Oh God, oh God, she hated spiders. They were disgusting. All bugs, insects, arachnids, and whatever were. However, she hadn't actually seen where the spider was before she made the motion to get rid of it, and she gave Charlie a wary look, half conscious of her little panic attack and half suspicious. She wasn't sure if she was being duped to look like a fool or not... Better safe than sorry, of course. Perhaps she had just blinked at the wrong time and missed the stupid little eight-legged creature. She shuddered. That was probably for the best.
She gave the other half-blood a strange look at the comment about not being left some shoes. She wasn't sure what that meant. If she was going to sleep in the woods, she should at least bring her own shoes. Surely that was common sense. Although there really nothing that made sense about sleeping in a bed in the woods. Laera felt like she was missing something here. Either that, or this girl was a lot weirder than she first realized.
"Seriously, what are you doing out here?" she demanded, making sure to sound more annoyed than confused or curious.

Charlie resisted the urge to reply that she was talking to an airheaded brat.
Laera had sounded annoyed, and Charlie didn't need her attracting any of the monsters that lived in the woods with a temper tantrum right now,
"Some a**holes moved my bed out here last night I think." Charlie still had to wonder how they had accomplished it, unless maybe a Hypnos kid was involved.
She wasn't even sure where she was exactly, aside from a general "inside the woods somewhere."
"I didn't exactly plan to sleep out in the woods."

Laera's eyebrows both went up. How the heck had they managed to bring the entire bed out into the woods? There must've been a big group. Also, Charlie didn't seem like the type of person who would just go with this sort of thing and sleep in her bed if it had been moved out here. Unless it had been moved while she was sleeping... which made sense with the shoe thing, but made this little prank all the more unbelievable. She marveled at this anonymous group's work, feeling odd with the idea that she was impressed by this. Of course, being amazed by a group of kids moving a bed into the forest didn't mean she disliked them any less.
She gave the bed a callous once-over. "What are you going to do about it, then?" she asked in a voice that suggested that she really couldn't care less. "As I doubt whoever did this would be willing to put it back for you." And you sure as hell won't be able to get it back yourself, dwarf, she thought, not daring to say it aloud. Charlie might've still been a bit drowsy, but Laera seriously didn't need another kick to the shin, or any body part for that matter.

James couldn't remember a day in his life when he didn't go for an early morning jog. His dad used to make him do them all the time before his knees gave up on him, but still forcing James to go and run on his own. James used to hate them, but know he was old enough to finally appreciate why his dad wanted him to run so much. Apart from normal exercise and building endurance for when he would inevitably be chased by monsters, mornings could actually be pretty nice. The sun rising in the East, the smell of dew on the grass, it was almost calming, relaxing. Unfortunately, his trance-like jog was broken by a sharp scream coming from the woods nearby. James darted his eyes in the direction of the noise, remembering what the older campers had said about there being monsters that lived in those woods. "Note to self: Ask Chiron why we haven't cleared the monsters out of the woods yet." He thought to himself. James crept his way through the woods (as quietly as he could in ACU pants and combat boots) with a hand on the celestial bronze knife at his hip. "As the say in the Coast Guard, Semper Paratus." James finally reached where he thought he heard the scream coming from, and came upon two other campers bickering next to a mattress. "Well, at least no one is getting McMuffin'd by a hellhound," James thought as he took his hand away from his knife.
"I take it y'all aren't out here for a nature walk?" he called to the girls, neither of whom looked like they wanted to be out here this early.

"I'm not really sure." Charlie answered.
She figured that she would need to call in a couple of favors to get her bed moved back, and then a few more to ensure payback on whoever moved her out here in the first place.
She still didn't like the idea of leaving her bed out in the woods for however long it took.
back. It was still a mystery how they had gotten her out here in the first place so.
She heard a someone to the right of the bed, a few meters away and turned to see an African American boy about her age.
She recognized him as James Walton, a boy she'd seen around camp but never really interacted with.
After all she had more important things to do normally, like make money.
"The Hermes cabin decided I needed a change of scenery last night apparently." Charlie said in response to the boy's inquiry.
She knew Tony was involved, but she'd make him suffer later, the Hermes kids were first on her list.

Laera looked up at whoever interrupted their chat, one eyebrow raised and her scowl in its usual place again. It was some tall, dark-skinned guy in army-type clothing, someone she wasn't familiar with. He was decently muscular, something Laera had started getting used to seeing around here, as virtually everyone was obsessed with training and whatnot. Charlie seemed to know him, or was at least being more or less friendly. Laera didn't really care for being 'nice' to strangers, unless they were really important strangers, and considering where they were, it was clear which category he (and everyone else, for that matter) fell into. Besides, the tall boy's interruption reminded her that she had to be on her way. If she stayed any longer, who knew, the whole camp would end up gathered 'round.
She cleared her throat. "Well," she said. "It's been fun, but I need to...ohhhmygod."
It had snuck up very silently, in a way that was seriously terrifying. It stood with glittering eyes behind the boy, its gross hairy body as big as an SUV. It raised one of its eight long legs.
Laera stared at it with wide eyes, paralyzed with fear. Then she screamed. "SPIDER!"

James studied the girls. He didn't recognize either of them, but they both looked a little younger than him. "Sounds like a Hermes camper thing to do," James replied to the blond girl. "Do you need any he-." His voice trailed off when the other girl screamed the single worst thing to scream within earshot of a child of Athena: "SPIDER!" James saw something large and black out of the corner of his eye and dove away from it before his brain had a chance to process what it was. When he looked back up, his heart stopped. Standing across from him was the biggest, hairiest tarantula he'd ever seen. The hulking arachnid was a black mass of matted hair with glistening black eyes. James tried to remember how to kill giant spiders, but unfortunately a giant can of Raid wasn't in any of his pockets. "It had to be a spider," he thought to himself. "It couldn't have been an empousa, or a giant, or literally anything else?!"

James was frozen in fear, staring down a monster straight out of his worst nightmares. His entire body was trembling, and he couldn't take his eyes off the behemoth. James forced himself to draw his dagger, and clenched it tightly in his fist. "So, uh," James said, trying his hardest to keep the fear out of his voice. "Do either of y'all have a plan?"

Charlie hd turned her attention away from James for the moment only to look back when she heard the yell about spiders...at first she'd assumed Laera was just overreacting, much like what had happened only a few moments ago..
So when she saw how large the spider in question was, it was understandable to that she was intimidated.
Now Charlie had never been afraid of spiders, so she was definitely more coherent then the other two demigods. She also logically new that with the spider's presence it wouldn't be smart to count on the Athena kid. Plus she was in pajamas, not nearly suitable for combat nor was she a very combat oriented individual anyways.
So She knew they really had no chance, having already counted out Laera as a potential help in a fight.
She was no strategist, but the chance of a fight going well for them were rather low.
"Running would probably be a good idea."

Laera stumbled backwards, eyes stuck to the giant creature. The part of her that heard Charlie was slow to respond, but after a second, she turned to run. She looked back over her shoulder at the boy, who was shaking as he faced the spider with a dagger in hand (like he was actually going to try and fight the horrid thing, which sounded like a terrifying and suicidal idea) and shouted, "C'mon!"
Not looking where she was going, she ran right into Charlie and knocked the smaller girl over.

James' terror had frozen him in place. The world seemed to move in slow motion and he almost didn't hear the girls calling to him. James finally forced himself to move, almost falling over a tree root trying to put distance between himself and the Super Spider without looking away from it. While he was backpedaling, he heard the girls collide and fall down. He was tempted to look back and check on them, but didn't break eye contact with the monster (which was notably more unsettling than eye contact with people since the beast had 8 of them). The spider, however, saw the girls falling and began to move in their direction. "Get up, get up, get up!" James yelled at the girls, sheathing his knife and side-running in their direction. Once he reached the girls he yanked them both up by their arms and broke into a dead sprint, half dragging them behind him, hoping that they could at least make it back to camp to get some help

Charlie had started running when her foot got caught on something. She'd looked down to find it was some type of thick thread. and realized that her leg was caught on some of the spider's web.
It was strong, she couldn't seem to get free, and then to make matters worse something barreled into the small girl. was knocked to the ground, with leg still stuck in place. It was rather painful.
She felt a sharp pain and was having trouble getting up due to the pain.
Walt ended up helping her up, but the pain stayed and Charlie had issues walking.
"S***, I think it's broken." She said after falling again.

The boy unfroze and went to help Laera and Charlie to their feet, luckily, and they began stumbling away together. A little less luckily, Charlie proclaimed her leg broken.
"Oh, great," Laera said, half to herself. So the girl was in no position to fight. Laera herself was in no way a fighter, definitely not. So it was up to their knight in shining cargo pants to deal with this creature, if they couldn't get away fast enough. Except he seemed as scared as Laera was. Okay, even more scared than she was. "What do we do, then?" she yelled as they kept going.

James cursed to himself as they came to a halt. It just had to be him that gets attacked by a giant spider in the woods. "Let me see it," he said to the injured girl. "It's probably just sprained, you'll live," he proclaimed after giving her ankle a once over. "Still..." The monster was gaining on them, and James knew he didn't have much time to come up with a plan that would get them all back to camp safely. He started to remember all the times he'd dealt with spiders in his life.

An idea suddenly sprang into James' head that scared him almost as much as the spider. "Spiders hate children of Athena," he said to the taller of the girls. "I'll have this thing chase me and lead it away from camp, you take your friend to the infirmary and get me some help." James let go of the girls' arms and sprinted away before they could respond. "Hey you 8 Legged Freak!" James yelled at the truck-sized arachnid. "Tasty son of Athena over here!" He threw a twig he found at the spider and hit it in one of it's eyes. Before James had the chance to marvel at his aim, the monster barreled towards him and he took off as fast as his feet would carry him.

(Charlie told me to skip her so i'll just go now)

Laera did as the boy said, and struggled off with Charlie in tow as he led the giant monster away.
"C'mon," she grumbled, not liking having to try and carry the girl's weight. She just had to break her leg or whatever, did she?
They made their way back to camp as quickly as they could with Charlie's injury, and Laera thought back to the boy, who had volunteered to distract the thing. She didn't know him, but she hoped he was okay.
They got out of the woods, and stumbled towards some other campers who were hanging out nearby.
"Hey!" she yelled at them. "We need help!"

(I think Tony was told to come here at some point a while back...)
Tony jumped up when someone said they need help. He charged into the forest, drawing his sword on the way.
There was a giant spider harassing a couple campers. He pointed his sword at it, calling down a bolt of lightning down onto it. When it dropped, he ran it through.
Tony cleaned off his sword and waved at the others. "Well, that's that. Call me if you have another monster problem."
