The rivalry (Axel)

Gusty walked into the Arena feeling bored and deprived, she hadn't had a proper fight for ages and had been keeping her head down for the past couple of days after what had happened between her and her sister, no one else could find out about the mark of the titan's army, it would get out of hand if anyone did, so, she had been forced to hide it with a bandage stolen from the infirmary. Sitting down, Gusty twisted the dial of her silver watch watching as it sprung into a sword, it never ceased to amaze her what the greek world could do, the technology-if you could call it that-was advanced!
Slowly, Gusty ran her hand along the blade staring at it, she wasn't looking for trouble but, obviously she had come at a wrong time for, when she looked up to see Axel, she knew it was going to be a long day.
Gusty both liked and didn't like Axel at the same time, his attitude towards her always made her want to stab him however, she supposed, he could be funny at the same time.
"Oh, hello." Gusty said trying to act cheerful though truly wishing she had stayed in her cabin.

Axel had mostly spent his time since returning to camp causing a bit of mischief and generally relaxing. He was bored at the moment however and somehow had ended up finding himself leaning against a wall in the arena.
He'd trained a bit, but overall things just seemed boring right now.
Then he noticed a certain Daughter of Zeus walking in, and his customary smirk appeared, this could prove interesting.
"Hey there Runt." Axel responded cheerfully.
(apparently that is her official nickname)

Gusty rolled her eyes, why did she have to be so short? She could barely reach the weapon racks in the armory, not that she needed to, she loved her sword too much.
"I'd be careful if I were you, I have a sword in my hand and I would gladly stab you with it." She stood up, her head just about level where his stomach was and smirked back at him, "Bored are you? That you have to tease me?" Gusty looked up at him with sharp blue eyes, "Forget I asked. It's obvious. I am too."
"Say, could you help me with my training? fighting against dummies are too easy."

"I'd probably tease you either way." Axel pointed out.
He gave a smug smirk and looked out over the arena, there werent many people around, a couple Ares kid s who practically lived in the place anyways.
"Sounds interesting, so why not."

"Ok, thanks!" She said cheerfully, looking up at Axel, she did not like him as such but he was one of the best sword fighters at camp besides, she found him to be the only one other than her sister Erin who knew her as a person, they did have that brotherly, sisterly bond in which consisted on rivalry, teasing and pranks though he was usually better at pranks and teasing because he had more things to make fun out of. She had grown quite used to the nickname runt and had found not one person shorter than her at camp, even Ri was taller, members of the Ares' cabin and the rest of the hermes' cabin had started using the nickname, Gusty didn't care anymore, the teasing toughened her up, one day, she would show them that size doesn't determine strength. Rolling up her sleeves, Gusty made sure that the scar that indicated that she was part of the titan's army was hidden by the bandages that she had stolen. Axel would probably tease her about getting 'hurt' too everyone would jump to the wrong conclusion if they found out.

(gusty is shorter at "4,8"

(Charlie is 4'6, she is often mistaken for somebody ridiculously younger xP)

(no one is that short at her age. also you never say what height she is in your application but whatever, I'm waiting for axel)

(actually there are people that short who are her age, and even people who are older, I've met a few myself. also there are genetic disorders that halt or slow aging, though they are very rare. it's also likely her growth could have been stunted by other factors so I'd rather not go into that)

Axel raised an eyebrow when the runt rolled up her sleeves, mostly because she seemed to do it with more care than necessary. He'd suspected she might be hiding something, but the son of Hermes decided not to question her about it. While normally he preferred fighting with a knife, Axel knew he was pretty good with a sword,and he had practiced with both weapons enough either way that he wasn't adverse to using either of them.
"So you want a handicap runt? how we planning to do this?"

Gusty shrugged, "I wouldnt get a handi mcap in real life. I'm figuring you just give me a few pointers. I struggle with using the enviroment around me and my balance is quite bad I think due to the power people put into their strikes compared to me. As you say, I'm not as strong as you." She said the last part as a mumble shifting her eyes slightly knowing he would take the mick more than ever. She saw his grin and growled jumping up onto a large boulder to look at him in the eye fiercely, "I nevet said that." The girl hissed putting her sword against his throat threatingly, "Understood?"

Axel didn't even acknowledge the sword at his throat.
"You really expect a runt like you to be throwin' the same power around as that guy?" Axel asked, pointing to a large ares kid training off to the side. "Didn't realize ya had a small brain too." Axel mocked. casually pushing the blade away from his throat.
"'sides, ya aint the first runt to walk into camp."

"No. It's not like that at all. I just don't want to be considered weak, that's all..." She admitted slowly lowering her sword, "Chiron told me that the first step to sucess was intimidating your oppenent but I can't even do that! I just want to be a good fighter." She glanced at him eye level now thanks to the added height from the boulder, "I don't like making mistakes." Gusty admitted, "When I was younger mistakes only brought pain...I learnt to fear making mistakes...I just want to be a good fighter, like you." She added, "Because then, when the time comes I'll be able to fight rather than just getting in the way."

She smiled slightly, slowly trailing her eyes downwards, it took a lot for Gusty to admit these things especially to Axel, she held her sword arm with the other almost waiting for Axel to say something cocky in responce.

(I feel obligated to post in here because I was referenced. *feels important for being referenced* *and for the fact that Ri is still known for being short*)
(And for the record, Zach from here, his little sister is like 4'6, 4'7, something like that, and looks like she's like 10, when she's actually in...8th grade? Possibly going into high school? Seriously short. Some people just get that short gene, or don't hit their growthspurt for forever. [I was the former, and so is Ri.])

(Haha yeah but if you look at Gusty's form she is 139cm which is "4, 6" according to google. I think Gusty's problem is the fact that she has a face of someone older than she is and the height of someone younger than she is. So, it's more prominant with her, this is based on me. I too have stopped growing and I am only 141cm tall however my fqce is mature. Besides Gusty's new at camp, whereas the other sho.)rt people have been there longer. Gusty doesn't really socialise with the normal people. She is slightly socially awkward, saying wrong things at the right time. A bunch of mistakes sewn together with good intentions
