Sleep ((Open))

Karen was practicing in the arena with a boy a year younger than her. She was practically beating him up with the sword, he hadn't even touched her while he was bruised all over. She then ducked a swipe and spun around, her brown hair in a ponytail whipping around with her, she came back up facing him and got him on the neck, making him stagger backwards and falling on his butt. "Good match. That'll be it for today." she said, brushing the hair that had fallen across her face behind her ears, sweat was dripping down her face. She helped him up and told him to go sit down, she had gotten so good she could best most people. She felt sweat trickle down her chest and onto her stomach and she smelled herself without trying to, she smelled disgusting, not to mention her hair probably looked horrible, she needed to shower. She sheathed her sword on her belt and headed towards her cabin to she could set things down then go shower like she needed to do.

She stepped inside and her cabin. She placed her sword on the hook by her bunk and grabbed her shower stuff, fresh clothes, a towel, and soap and shampoo and hairbrushes and things like that. Karen then headed towards the bathhouse knowing it was virtually empty. She was right on it being empty, so she headed inside and chose a stall and closed the curtain behind her for privacy. She then undressed and stepped under the hot water. Once she rinsed herself off and showered, she got dressed in tennis shoes, jeans, and a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt, then headed to the sink and dried out her hair and brushed it. She let her brown hair stay on her shoulders because she didn't think there was a need to do her hair anyway else. She then stepped out of the bathhouse and headed back to the Hermes cabin and put her shower stuff back in it along with dirty clothes. She grabbed her sword and put it on her belt again, even though she probably didn't need it, it was always nice to have.

She decided to not sleep in her cabin so she headed to a place where she could rest over looking the camp, Half-Blood Hill. She had only crossed over the border a few days ago, starting her summer session. It probably wasn't safe to head back to New York each year in case she was a powerful Half-Blood, but she wanted to see her mom in person, which wasn't possible via Iris Message, she wanted to stand next to her and actually hug her. She had crossed that border for the first time 5 years ago to the day in fact. Karen decided not to go there though, she headed to the strawberry fields instead, she passed some satyrs and campers, but nothing exciting, every so often she brushed a loose strand of hair out of her face. She made her way up the fields and sat down, her back leaning against a stray log. She rested her head on it and realized how sleepy she was, maybe one little nap. She closed her eyes and fell asleep, and she had the the usual demigod dream, a vision or something, but it probably meant nothing.

Karen stood at the top of a hill overlooking New York City, but New York City wasn't normal, it was in ruins, monsters were roaming the street, stepping over flipped over cars and fires. The city that never slept, her home, was destroyed, overrun by monsters. She then realized she was sobbing, she could feel tears trickling down her cheek. A loose strand of hair fell over her face and she pushed it away. Karen realized it was stupid, but her dream self ignored her thoughts, she began to walk down a street that she recognized as Wall Street, how she got from the hill to Wall Street she had no idea. A hell hound lunged at her and she sliced at it, vaporizing it. She felt like she could take on anything. She met even more monsters, killing them with ease, but eventually a huge shadow loomed overhead. It was like Typhon, but worse, it bent down and picked her up, despite her slicing, and clawing. It brought her up to eye level and began to squeaze, she screamed out for help, but none came, then her vision went black.

With that Karen woke with a start, realizing she was screaming for help in reality to, she saw a demigod standing over her, several more might have been on the way. Somehow, she thought that dream had something to do with her Fatal Flaw, the thing all demigods had that was their most easy way to die, the flaw could kill them easily, Karen had a feeling hers was horrible, maybe believing that she could take on anything an win? Maybe that was what the dream was for, telling Karen what her flaw was, but she doubted it, she probably wouldn't have dreamt about that and find out that way, she just let it fly and pushed the thought out of her mind, she had to deal with this first. She decided to smile, "My apologies, I was sleeping and had a nightmare, apparently when I screamed for help, I did it in the waking world to. By the way, I am Karen Westbrook, unclaimed." She brushed some hair out of her eyes and stood up, facing the demigod, she couldn't tell if they were younger or older than her.

Estelle flinched when she heard the screaming. She smiled back at the girl uneasily.'Estelle, daughter of Athena' she replied. 'You're new here?' she said as she scanned this girl. Westbrook? Huh.

The girl asked Karen if she was knew. Hadn't she seen her around the Zeus cabin? She had been there 5 years and known she was the daughter of Zeus for all 5 of them. She was quite annoyed by this but didn't show it and still acted nice, smiling."Hey Estelle, I'm the daughter of Zeus, and no I am not new here, I have been here for 5 years."Karen couldn't keep her mind off of the dream, she brushed some hair behind her ears as she thought more about it, the dream playing over in her mind.

Karen then realized her hands were sweaty with being nervous, but she just wiped the sweat away and asked Estelle, "So what brings you to the strawberry field? As you saw, I was just taking a nap outside of my cabin and had a nightmare."She definitely looked like an Athena child. Karen then tied her hair back into a ponytail and looked at Estelle up and down.

'Just for a little stroll.'Estelle replied. She hadn't seen Karen before, mainly cause she didn't really care about Zeus kids that much. She twirled her braid, with the jade pendant attached to it.'your hands suddenly became sweaty. why?' Estelle observed.

Lily was walking down the field when she saw Karen and Estelle talking. She walked up to them and said “Hey guys,”casually. By Estelle's expression, she could clearly see that she didn't know Karen. Hmmm. It was amazing that she hadn't seen Karen. As far as Lily knew, Estelle was always somewhere. It was lucky that she wasn't a god. Then she would be everywhere. Was she like that? Perhaps a few years ago,... But she rarely did that. She was too overcome with emothion then. Perhaps it was just Estelle's hyperactive personality. She picked of a strawberry adn asked,“so, what's up?”she asked as she popped tge strawberry in her mouth.

He was in the room with children of the big three zeus,poseidon,hades.He stared at the girl named karen and than lily.He picked a strawberry and ate it.He picked about 100 today and he could get more.He pulled out his sword and cut all the strawberry's than took them.He put his sword away and sighed.Hades needs to start showing signs that he cared about him.He moved over to the large ones and took about 25 of them.His mom loved him and he could not afford to waste time sulking about his dad who has more than 20 kids.He smiled and looked toward the girl named lily.

Lily sensed the boy looking at her and she said “hey,” casually. She popped the strawberry she had picked eariler into her mouth. She liked strawberries. On summers, she and Paul liked to go swimming and made delicous treats with it.

'Oh, hey, lily' Estelle noticed Lily. She waved over. 'Do you know Karen?'

“i know all of the kids here. You know, she arrived a bit after i did,” lily said.

Joy walked over to what looked a bit like a demigod convention. "So,what happened? Nightmare?"She asked sympathetically. She had way too many of those.

'Probably' replied Estelle for Karen.'Who are you, again? I don't think I've met you before.'

"I'm Joy Detora currently unclaimed."Joy replied a bit icily. She knew that the girl was trying to be friendly,but she still hated that sort of thing.

“Nice to meet you, I'm lily Johnson, daughter of Poseidon,” Lily said. She blew a loose strand of hair from her forehead casually.

Joy was a bit surprised. She had only heard of one! "But aren't children of the Big three supposed to not exist?" She asked Lily.

“Actually, they knocked it off after this big battle. I'm not rhe only kid, either. I have a half-sister and theres a Hades kid and here,”Lily gestured to Karen. “this is Karen. Zues kid,” she explained acrefully.

"I never knew that."

“You're new, so dob't worry. You'll get used to it.” Lily smiled brightly. She thought about the past big-three friends she had-Artemis and Cameron. Before she knew, she lost connection to realilty and a flashback occured. A fresh memory, from only a few monthes ago.

Lily got a weird look on her face. "Lily! Are you okay?" Joy asked frantically. Lily was counted as a friend now,so Joy was especially scared for Lily.

Great. Just great. Her flashbacks were getting worser. Lily pulled herself from the flashback and into reality. She said “It's a flashback. I have these frequently. Because of my life... What happened to me in the past .” she murmured.

Joy could definitely relate to that. " Don't worry about it,I have them sometimes too. It should get better soon. But what happened to me was a long time ago,so it might not apply to your flashbacks." Joy almost bit her tongue when she said that. The flashbacks were still happening,but they were getting better.

“I'm an expert on flashbacks.” Lily grinned. “They get worser and worser. But i'm still sane, so no worries. I've been having then for....hmm almost 6 years now,”She said. The flashbacks were also getting wider. No one could stop it for a full day.. Well, maybe Whitney.

Joy smiled a rare smile. "That's good,wouldn't want an insane you walking around. You'd bump into a wall or something."

“I've fainted from one before,” Lily said casually. Blackouts? Just a part of her life. She popped a strawberry in her mouth.

How could Lily talk about it so casually? Wow. Estelle shook her head.

＂How do you talk about it so casually？＂Joy asked in disbelief。She hated them。
