Years in Camp: None, yet... she just recently found out
Brief History: Abigail's childhood was spent with her father, David Firestone, who also happens to be a Master level chessplayer. In spite of the large amount of traveling the two of them often did to various chess tournaments and the like, Abby lived a fairly normal childhood... other than a few oddities that at first she had ignored but began to notice more as she grew older. For one, she had NEVER heard her father talk about her mother, not even mention her and he always got this rather strange look on his face whenever she asked about that topic and then quickly changed the subject; for another thing, there is this weird fear of spiders that she has ALWAYS had... as if they are out to get her... but got worse, becoming nearly a full blown phobia, after an incident where she was bitten by a venomous spider and became very ill as a small child; and then there was the dyslexia... which she did learn to cope with adaquately. Life went on like that, little bits of weirdness that never went and were never quite explained , but then were easily enough ignored most of the time... that is until Abby's fourteenth birthday.
It was then that her father 'took her aside', and told her that she deserved to know the truth about her mother... a fact which caught her attention as she had always assumed that for whatever reason her father had not wanted to discuss it. He then stunned her by explaining that she was a daughter of the goddess Athena. He then proceeded to tell her an improbable tale of how he had attracted her mother's attention due to being a devotee of chess... a game of warfare, reason and strategy... that came under her supervision. She had entrusted him with Abby, and obliged him to swear that he wouldn't tell her who and what she was until she was old enough. "Old enough... for what?" Abigail had asked at the time, to which her father could only reply that her mother had said that when the time and place were right, she would understand. It was shortly thereafter that she received directions to reach half-blood hill and thereafter what she would come to call 'the camp'.
