Getting taught a lesson

Andrew walked into the arena looking for someone to spar with. He noticed that there was blood on the ground and he didn't want to find out what happened. Despite his fears he kept walking in and noticed no one was there, so he decided to put his gloves and armor on which was way to tight but he knew his armor was going to be helpful if he fought a veteran fighter.

Estelle walked into the arena absentmindedly. She skimmed through the armor and found one light and comfortable. Putting it on, she adjusted it and looked around for a spar partner.

Andrew was bringing a right hook on a practice dummy when he noticed someone coming in. He waved at her and started jogging over to her.

Estelle saw a boy jog towards her. 'I'm guessing you want to spar?' she asked casually. 'Sorry, but I haven't seen you around the camp. Umm, who are you exactly?' She took a step back and waited for an answer as she inspected her silvery blue sword blade.

Andrew slowed his pace until he reached her and said "I'm Andrew Sully son of Harmonia and who might you be?"

OOC: I'm waiting for jake to get my weapon done so unless you've got a spare weapon or the arena does.

'Estelle Evergreen, daughter of Athena' Estelle twirled Silverstag, her sword. 'You haven't answered my first question. Spar or not?'

Andrew was picking out a weapon He chose a spear it would give a longer reach and once he got up close he would use his gloves to do some serious damage. He already knew he was going to lose especially against a duaghter of Athena but his powers would help him. As he was getting into his battle stance he said "spar."

'Great!' Estelle said brightly and then got serious. She waited for a second and experimentally jabbed towards Andrew's left shoulder, then his thighs. Trying to get the hang of his fighting style before he got used to hers. The first tactic in the book. In this case, she didn't hurt him. Save wounds for later. Later on, her blows will be much more effective.

Andrew blocked the first attack to his shoulder and jumped out of harms way when Estelle tried to attack his thigh. After that he came charging up to her and fainted a jab to the right and used the end of the spear and hit her with it. He then stepped back keeping some distance beetween her. He then said " Come on just show me what you got im going to lose anyways." He was trying to trick her into thinking that he wasn't that good but he was an acceptional swordsman and spearman thanks to his dad who was into a lot of mid evil stuff such as techniques and battle strategy.

Estelle understood his trick. She had used it well herself, when she just came into camp. But it soon turned out that she could fight viciously. Never underestimate your enemies. She cocked her head slightly to one side, as if listening to something, then charged again. She swung Silverstag like a mace. She caught him off guard. Using her speed to boost her up, she jumped gracefully into the air, blocking and sending out stabs of the blade. No mercy.

Andrew was waiting for that to happen he always new to have a backup plan for everything and luckily he guessed right and had her split the spear in half with the first one which he used to block with both against the attack which he got a lot of scratches but nothing major.

Estelle smiled.'Not bad' she complimented as she landed lightly on her feet. She hung back, but eyed him warily. But not good enough to win her. She started humming out of nowhere. An eerie but beautiful song. Distraction.

Andew said nothing to her keeping his eye on her until he heard her hum and then he asked "What is this choir?" Ge still had his eyes on her making sure she didn't pull a trick on him.

Estelle grinned cockily. 'Oh, I just like making up songs on the spot.Not as good as reading or writing, but a good way to pass the time. Old habits.' she noticed him still being aware. She returned to her song and hummed as if there was nothing wrong, watching every movement of the opponent.

Andrew loosened his stance a little and said "If you're just going to hum ill leave." He then paused to wait for a reply and he chucked one of the spear ends at her and came running up to her with his open hand spike out in his glove swinging at her arm.

Estelle didn't respond. She dodged the spear with ease and saw him running up to her, a deadly glove on. She jumped back and slashed furiously at him, managing to touch a bit of skin. Backing, she examined her wounds. A little blood on her arm. That won't bother her. She smiled.'Now that's what I call sparring.' she swung silverstag, towards Andrew's knees, and swerved towards the back of it.

Andrew smiled and jumped out of reach he then asked her "I thought you were going to do something cool like the Mateix. Why didnt you?" Man he thought good thing she's on our side he noticed a deep cut on his leg and didn't feel from his adrenaline.

'What is that?'Estelle asked, her face clearly blank. 'Never heard of that before. Is it like a sort of tactic of battle or something?' she was suddenly intrigued, but was still aware of the fact that the spar did not end. 'wait. Explain later. I've got a feeling this might distract me.' she said, then raised her sword again.

Andrew laughed at that and looked at her and said "Wait you're being serious? You've never seen the Matrix before........its like the best movie ever!" Andrew started shaking his some of these people needed some fun in their lives.

'We don't have a TV in the Athena Cabin, and I grew up in an orphanage. Also, I occupy most of my time training, reading, and writing.' Estelle countered matter-of factly. 'What?' she asked as she saw his expression. People..she had not gotten several privileges other people had. General entertainment, for example.

Andrew hoped she hadn't took it the wrong way and he lied and said "Well it's kind of stupid your mom didn't try to claim you when you needed her most." Andrew wasgladhe didnt get putinto an orphanage when hid dad died and he asked " How long were you in their?" He then lowered his weapon. Probably being to trusting and he turns his back and got a bottle of water out of his bag.

'A few years. And you wouldn't call the wisdom goddess "stupid". If I had known, I would have attracted more monsters and become in much more danger. She knew that.' Estelle said briskly. Then she softened her tone. 'I ran away. It just came to my head that it wasn't safe for me there. Athena probably blew the thought into my head. I survived.' she shrugged.'I found Silverstag in the woods. Mom guided me all along.'

Andrew nodded his head and said "Sorry I'm still getting use to being a demigod and I also apoligize if I offfended you about what I said about your mom." He paused for a moment thinking about what he would say if someone said that about his mom and he rembered about their spar and he asked "So are we still fighting?"

' I dunno' replied Estelle, twirling her braid. ' We can continue if you want, or just go on a walk and talk some more.' she shugged. 'Either one fits me'
