Shooting Photos and Monsters

Alex sat under the tarp at the arts and crafts pavilion. She was holding a camera in her hand. Why did this appear on her bedside this morning? She thought.
That morning she had woken up with a note that said: CAREFUL WHAT YOU SHOOT. What the heck was that supposed to mean. So she spent the day with her other cabin mates. She was a kid of Hermes so she quickly hid the camera. None of the other kids in the cabin were awake yet so she had snuck out of her cabin to go sit on the beach. She spent the rest of the day wandering the camp, doing activities she had signed up. But the camera was constantly on her mind. Questions kept popping up in her mind.
Who had given it to her?
Why should she be careful with what she shot?
Why someone would chose to give her a camera?
Was it magic?
Was it from her father?
She finally decided to head down to the Arts and Crafts area. She sat down staring at the camera and probably could have sat there until dinner time. She looked up to see a note hovering in the air in front of her, it said: GO TO THE WOODS RIGHT NOW.
Nothing interesting had ever happened to her, in fact Alex only had a couple of friends and since the Hermes cabin was still crowded she didn’t bother to spend all her time with her siblings. It seemed like everybody else always had something better, whether it was magic items or special abilities all she was able to do was make herself blend in so much that she may as well could have disappeared.
She stood up and brushed herself off from sitting in the dirt, and looked at what she was wearing. Her dirty blond hair and her clothes were covered in pine needles from the tree that she was sitting by so she tried her best to get the needles out off while jogging along the borders of the camp to get to the woods.
Once she got to the woods she saw a monster. A large phoenix was sitting on the ground. It looked at the camera in her hand and shrieked. The bird lunged at her, bursting into flame.
“Ahhhh!” She shrieked. Without thinking she raised her camera and took a shot of the bird. The bird shrieked again but this time fell on the ground. Confused Alex looked at her camera, it had turned into a gun.
Who had given her the gun? And who had known that there was a monster waiting in the woods?
The thoughts were welling up in her head. That’s when she heard the voice.
“Hello there.”

how do I do that? I've been trying to figure out how to do that, and am not having much luck

Well you just need to copy-paste the template from here: https://half-bloods.rpg-board.net/t465-new-character-template and then put a filled out version into a new topic, (which I guess you know how to do, since you made this one) under the main "New Character" section. Just put your character's name as the title.
