First Morning

Saille awoke with a start and lay there perfectly still looking up at the bottom of a bed. A soft dawn light was floating thru the window and somewhere a bird was singing. A very nice sort of morning to wake up on. She carefully looked around the room at several kids sleeping and peacefully drooling on their pillows. Her arm was aching and her belly rumbled. She rummaged thru the blankets to her sling and pulled out the bread. As she lay there munching on the bread she contemplated her situation.

Axel noticed the new camper, one who had not been there the previous night.
While he had been a bit busy with some...projects the previous night, he knew that the kid hadn't been in camp before.
While this certainly wasn't exactly new, the kid seemed young. The child of hermes did notice the girl seemexd to pull some food out of the sling she seemed to have an arm in, meaning she had been injured
"hmm, you seem interesting."  Axel  said, giving a mischievous smirk.

Saille rolled over and cocked her head. A boy. A tall one too. She contemplated his statement finding it a funny way to wake up to someone finding you interesting. Was she supposed to say something? She couldn't decide so kept her mouth shut and went on munching and watching him for any sign that he was a problem to her. His hair looked like a new calf who's mother has just licked dry leaving it sticking up at odd angles. Picturing this she snorted in her odd way of laughing with out all the work and licked her fingers clean. Then she sat up and looked around again before standing and stretching then shaking herself off she readjusted the sling and a small dagger she wore on her right hip. All the time keeping a eye on the boy.

Axel has a feeling that Charlie had something to do with the kid being here.
Maybe he should have gone to meet her anyways, then again it wouldn't be as interesting if he showed up all the time. "So I'm guessing you didn't just stumble in here blindly?"

Stumble in by accident. Yes she had but also no she had been left here by a stranger. ”No” Saille said after a hesitation ”least not exactly but sort of”. She wondered where the girl what was her name umm oh Charles was. She had left her here last night and now she wasn't sure what to do. She had planed to just watch the camp and hide untill tomorrow but now she was stuck in the middle of it. Saille picked up her bag of stuff and asked ”The girl Charles is she here?”

(Sorry, I got really busy with homework as well as the fact I recently got a graveyard shift job and so have been trying to readjust my sleep schedule, in addition to actual work.)

Axel was fairly amused by the idea of sticking Charlie with some random kid. After all the girl was used to charging people for everything from information to helping to arrange something. He was also curious how the meeting between this random kid and Charlie must have gone-and the son of hermes had no doubts that it was the blonde midget that this girl meant- was definitely amusing.
"Nah, Shorty's probably still asleep in her own cabin."

Asleep at this hour! Saille thought by now the horses would be fed, chickens out scratching and the ranch hands out checking cows. "Oh" was all she said shifting her balance from left foot to right foot. "Where are we?" she then ask realizing she had no idea last town she remembered was something like Cooksville or Cooksburg up near the Allegheny park. In the dak she hadn't seen signs much and she had slept some too. Gee what a idea she could be anywhere! This thought startled her and and she felt panic trying to crawl in to her thoughts but at least he was safe from Aunt Jane. A shudder ran up her back and she quickly glanced out the window.

"A camp full of kids that kill monsters." Axel answered cheerfully, fully aware of how ludicrous it would sound.
He took a moment before deciding to just say the location of camp, deciding to revel in appearing crazy, people usually had amusing reactions to you when they thought you were unhinged.
"Oh and Long Island Sound, but that's much less interesting."

Saille's eyes narrowed and she studied the boy. ”Monsters? What do you mean?” she asked carefully. Did he know about the creatures that had attacked her? Could he have answers to all those absurd questions she could never ask any one? Saille's mind churned with thoughts. She rummaged thru her bag looking for more food and found a lump of cheese. She picked a odd piece of blue glass glass and a some string out of the side of it and broke it in two offering some to the boy.

Axel shrugged, taking the offered food with a shrug, before answering.
"Oh you know, dragons, cyclops, minotaurs, Canadians." He considered the kid, definitely not a city kid, he could tell that much. Likely came off some kind of farm or something, and he could already tell she likely had nothing worth stealing.
"Ya know we do have a mess hall?" Axel pointed out.

”Mess hall hum.” Saille said perking up abit. She guessed that must be where she was yesterday but decided not to say she'd been there last night. ”What tis this place? she asked glacing at a waking girl who was draped over a bed grumbling about early risers. She thought about maybe going outside. It was getting more uncomfortable as the people started waking up. Humans asked to many questions.
