Joyriding with a SUGAR RUSH!

Artemis entered the Stables, random thoughts buzzing around his hyperactive brain, such as the meaning of the term 'sugar rush,' or 'high,' though he wasn't really concentrating it them, or anything really.

The euphoria experienced after consuming large amounts of sugar or caffeine. The intense physiological effect of consuming too much sugar or glucose, usually in the form of cakes, cookies and soda; eating excessive amounts of sugar makes the brain release dopamine and endorphins, often inducing a mild sense of euphoria and happiness. This is often accompanied by a strong surge of energy as the sugar hits the bloodstream.

He moved swiftly along, past the many Pegasi who all seemed to back off as he approached, in a strange manner that was something in between skipping and jogging, completely unable to stay still for a mere second as he ran his shaking hand along the stalls, much to the winged horses' dislike. Artemis had attempted to use them all at least once during chariot racing practice, which usually ended with screaming and the chariot going up in flames, so they had reason to be wary of him. Ignoring the fact that they seemed to absolutely loath the sight of him, Artemis stopped abruptly in front of a pure black Pagasi, twitching ever so slightly as he grabbed the reigns and advanced on the creature, attempting to strap them onto the Pegasi that was apparently named 'Wildfire.' The name sounded promising enough, though he doubted that the creature actually liked fire as much as his name implied.

Sugar highs often only last an hour or two, and as the level of glucose in the blood lowers it can often leave the subject feeling drained or unnaturally tired. If ingested with large amounts of caffeine, such as in the form of chocolate or cola, the subject can also become jittery, experience mild heart palpitations or suffer from temporary insomnia.

Artemis glared at nothingness for a moment as he wrestled with the unwilling Pegasus, annoyed at his thought. Shut up, SHUT UP! I don't care. Stop distracting me.. He responded internally to the thought, not even processing the fact that talking to oneself was slightly abnormal. He shuddered and cringed in the same movement as Wildfire took advantage of Artemis during his distracted state and bit him hard on the arm as he attmepted to clip a muzzle and harness around him. Clutching his arm, which was thankfully not bleeding, Artemis virtually screamed at the creature, "Hey! What was that for? Totally uncalled for, horse dude, seriously. That's just plain mean."
Barely feeling any pain over the euphoria and happiness, which were both highly unusual emotions for Artemis put together, he managed to hook the reigns onto the Pegasus, though loosely, and attempted to lead it out of the Stables.

Marie wandered past, on her way to the Mess Hall for lunch, when she heard a boy screaming something from inside the stables. She went in to take a look as this wasn't normal behaviour in the stables, so she was concerned.
"Umm.. Hi? You okay in there?" She turned the corner, realising exactly who the boy was. Of course. Artemis. Nothing to worry about then, or so she thought until she saw the huge red mark on his arm. "Oh my Gods, Arty. Are you okay? How in Hades did you get Wildfire to bite you? He's virtually harmless."

To begin with, Artemis completely ignored whoever it was who had decided to follow him, though this became harder to do as she came closer, and louder. She looked sort of panicked, worried almost, but why he had no idea. Though, he was too busy concentrating on leading the unwilling Pegasus out of the Stables to care at that moment, or rather, until she used his much hated nickname that some people seemed to insist on using. "Artemis. Artemis. Is that so hard to say? Not Fowl, not Arty or anything. Simply. Artemis." He muttered, not taking any notice of how she seemed to go on about harmlessness. He somehow managed to drag the steed into the racing track, and to tether it to a post before going off in search of the Hades Cabin chariot without being bitten.

Marie glared at him, and only didn't walk off because she was scared of what he might do with fire, a chariot and an annoyed Pegasus at his disposal. "Uhh. Right. Well, Artemis, don't you think you should go and do something else? Anything else? Really?" She was really starting to dislike this boy, but there was something about him that made her hesitant to judge. She probably just didn't know him well enough to judge him yet.

Cameron Walkined in waved at Marie looked at Artemios with a dissapointed look and said"Artemis if you don't do this I'll let you leave camp on my griffin automation."
