Gliding Through the Lake{Open}

Skipper cautiously stepped into the red canoe, careful not to fall in, and sat on one of the small benches. She had found it a nice day for daydreaming and a tree just wouldn't suit her needs of gliding across cool waters. She willed the winds to push her slowly, not too much power. And calmly, she began to glide across the clear waters of the canoe lake. Then, she started to daydream. Skipper only really dreamed in black and white, that was it. Her dreams had no color. Her dreams were soon interrupted by something unknown to her. She shook out of her daydreams and looked around to see what had disturbed the moment.

The sounds that had bothered Skipper were the plucking of guitar strings. A light melody carried over the lakes surface. On the other side of the lake was Dominic Moss; perched on the end of the pier with his guitar in his hands, focusing on his practice session with the instrument.
Not that he needed to practice. Being a son of Apollo meant that music came to him as naturally as breathing, but Dominic practiced anyway. The trouble was that he could never practice alone. Everywhere he went he would either be met with campers or mythical creatures. Even at the lake he couldn't find peace, for as he had started playing a gang of water nymphs had been drawn in by his song and become an audience of screaming fans.
'Just leave me be, please.' Dominic mumbled, a blush rising in his cheeks as the nymphs howled and wolf whistled, begging for more songs.

" oi manners" Fred joked stomping up behind Dominic. " mind you ah never herd a wolf whistle in nature huve you? but ah tell yeh. yeh kin really play that guitar." Fred mumbled to the new kid. " names Fred Yamamoto" she held out her hand. " half Japanese half Scottish and half god ah destruction. and totally un understandable"
she joked.

Dominic was so startled by the new arrival coming up behind him that he almost dropped his guitar into the water. The water nymphs booed a cloud of bubble at Fred before swimming away, some of them giving Dominic a cheeky wink before they left.
'Thank you.' Dominic breathed, glad that his fan base was finally leaving him alone. He was so relieved that he almost forgot about the girl standing behind him and turned to face her.
His eyes widened a little at the sight of her bronze eye. He had never encountered someone with an artificial eye and even though he hated himself from doing it he couldn't help but stare for a moment before cursing as he realised the girl had just introduced herself.
'Dominic Moss.' He replied and shook her hand, 'Sorry for staring. That wasn't polite at all.' He said solemnly and offered an apologetic smile.

The flashing gray eyed girl sat underneath one of the trees and was reading about Ancient cultures. Alexis was very interested in all cultures and all types of buildings in them. She studied them quietly. Her eyes flickered upwards when hearing the crash of the guitar. Then they went back down onto the books Greek words she watched them flip around like they were doing cartwheels then stopped so she could read it.

Skipper was startled by the sudden appearance of Dominic and Fred. "Oh! Um, hello, Dominic, Fred." she said kindly, looking at the two.

Dominic's ear pricked up as he heard the stranger call over to them. He let go of Fred's hand before awkwardly looking at the floor. He wanted to apologise again for staring, but his insides had started to squirm uncomfortably. Whether it was from the shame of being so rude or the embarassment of knowing that he had been playing before a bigger audience than he thought he didn't know.
He gave a small wave to the stranger and a small smile, 'Sorry for disturbing you. Hope my playing wasn't too bad.' He called before glancing back at Fred as if to ask whether it was or not.

"oh ma eye. its nae big thing but never pick a fight wae kittens.wee things are vicious" she joked. she was glad to find some one without social etiquette. just like her.
Fred turned "oh hi skipper. sorry if we ruined yer canoe ride. got tae say the life jacket looks cute on you" she called out. "any of yes want tae go oot? ah was in the Sea Cadets so i know what im doing" she asked.

Dominic felt relieved that Fred didn't take offence. He almost found it funny that he could still be surprised, ever since finding out about the world of Gods he had seen no end of crazy things. It was a wonder that it was still possibly to be shocked.
When Fred made the offer Dominic felt himself grow stiff, 'I've..never really...canoed before.' He mumbled, 'I'd probably screw it up.'

" uch its easy i was a P.O back in the TS Gold rover but we will need waterproofs first" Fred admitted.
she looked over to Alexis. " is it safe fer a wane of Athena ta be on the water?" she asked

Alexis shook her head,"Poseidon and Athena hate each other."Alexis said getting up."I hang out her but it's not really safe for a child of Athena. I sometimes swim but right now no."Alexis said looking at her."Whose this?"Alexis asked referring to Dominic,raising an eyebrow with curiousity.

" i thought Athens had the biggest the biggest navy." Fred shrugged

"She does but against one of the big three . . . no way. "Alexis said.

" aye ah suppose the whole human demigod thing changes things doesn't it?" Fred guessed.

Alexis nodded slightly."I guess."Alexis said.Though something was bothering her whenever someone brought up the subject of Poseidon. She gets a little edgy and unstable.

Dominic listened to the discussion with a blank expression on his face. He wanted to contribute but everything he knew about his dad was common knowledge. He couldn't exactly say; 'Hey, my Dad drives the sun. Did you know that?'
'I'm Dominic.' He said and raised his hand in a small wave at the girl, 'How do you do?'

Alexis looked at Dominic."I'm Alexis Ivey."Alexis said her intelegent gray eyes seemed intimidating. She then looked at the waves and how big they were turning out."your the new son of Apollo huh?"

"ahhh i taught it wis wan oh the muses." fred admited

'Annoyingly yes.' He said before standing up and raising his guitar above his head, 'Behold I the son of Apollo. Gifted with the power of music. He can play anything on his guitar from Beatles to Beiber and at this moment he's taking requests.' He joked before dropping the guitar and looping it around his shoulder by the strap, 'Daughter of Athena huh? Can't imagine the thanksgiving dinners.'

"Hm . . ."Alexis smiled a little at his joked."Yeah.'' Alexis replied at the daughter of Athena

" you play biber and yell get a kicking fa me mate." she didnt get the thanks giving thing.

'I promise I won't.' He said to Fred with a smile, 'So how would a sea cadet get the canoe going?' He asked, curiousity getting the better of him.

"first get in the bloody hing. and you will get wet" fred admitted

'Sounds like a good plan.' He said with a chuckle before looking over the water. Some of the nymphs were beckoning him to get in, 'Or...maybe not.'

"well skipper seems fine way them." Fred noticed
