Andrew's Weapon Pick-Up

Jake tested the weight of each sword in turn. It was nicely balanced and didn't tug at your hand either way. A bit heavy, but manageable. He picked up one in each hand. Dual weapons weren't really his personal style, but they did look rather cool. He brought the two flat pommels together and turned the newly formed double sided sword in his hand allowing the mechanism to even out the handle for a better grip. He pressed a button with his thumb on and slashed a metal stand. The edge had left a glowing orange scratch on the metal. He had 'forgotten' about Andrew's statement not to add that part...
He glanced at Ty who had been laying down outside watching him work.
"Not bad, huh?"

Andrew walked in and noticed a big hellhound he could only assume was Ty Jakes pet he said to Jake "The swords look pretty awesome did you add anything to it?" He looked at Ty and said "That's a big dog."

"Yup." Jake said, sliding his hands apart to disconnect the swords again. It was the correct answer to both statements, but from the way he said it it was hard to tell which one he was responding to.

Andrew asked him "Umm which one were you saying yes to or were you saying for both?" Andrew was kind of hoping for something cool but he thought it would be distespectful if he didn't ask.

"Hmm? Yah." Jake said, still not really answering the question in an acceptable manner. He placed one of the swords on the workbench. He showed Andrew part of the hilt of Way Maker.
"Okay, these swords both have an ability, and you just hold your thumb over this button here to keep it active." Jake showed the button clearly and then pressed it, and the edge of blade glowed a bit. "This one heats up, and theoretically you could cut a hole in in steel with that." Jake took his thumb off and grabbed the second sword and held it up. "Same thing, push button to activate, this one's got some poison edges. Got that so far?"

Andrew nodded and wondered what else he had planned.

Jake turned the swords in his hand so that he could show the next feature and still do the things necessary to do it.
"Now, you can use this as a double ended spear. You hit the pommels together. Firmly, but don't kill it."
He demonstrated what he did earlier. "Sort of move your hand to let the handle even out."
"Then to disconnect, slide your hands apart from each other, and you'll pull the two swords apart with it. Got all that?"

Andrew nodded his head saying "It's pretty simple anything else I need to know?"

Jake sheathed them and thought for a moment.
"Don't cut yourself." Jake said, tossing him the swords.

Andrew caught the swords carrying both in his left hand and said "Thanks is that it?"

Jake shrugged. "Yah. Pretty much."

He nodded and said "Awesome see you around some time." He waved at him and walked out.
