Daughter of Life
((By the way, this story I made has nothing to do with Greek Mythology. I completely made up the gods and goddesses.))
Okay, guys! I'm here with another story!

Conrad, I got the Half Moon idea from you. Thanks

- Spoiler:
(Claimer: The gods here are not from a Greek, Roman, Egyptian, or Norse myth. They’re truly original.)
Chapter 1: Raina
Raina didn’t remember anything.
She woke up in a wooden, stinky room with a bed in it. In the room was also a suitcase, and when she opened it, there was a few clothes in it, a mirror, and a shining silver bracelet. Also some toiletries and toothbrush.
She walked out of the room, but she took the bracelet, unsure what to do with it. It felt important, like a passport or something.
When she walked upstairs, she soon realized that she was in a ship. She went out and greeted the other people who woke up early. Except, for the fact that Raina didn’t feel like she was supposed to be here.
She was searching for someone she knew, when she happened to see someone wearing a golden bracelet that had the most similar design to hers. She walked over to the girl. The girl had platinum blonde hair in a ponytail and turquoise-green eyes.
“Hello,” She decided to start out simple. “My name’s Raina. Do I know you?”
The girl shook her head, obviously not paying attention to what Raina was saying. She took out a pen and paper and started to write a letter to someone. Raina knew she wasn’t supposed to be doing this, but she took a peek.
Dear Lyla,
I must tell you that the Lock is lost. We must hope that they didn’t find it, for as you know, they have the Key. We must find it and the maiden seal, or else the world will prevail to harmonize. You know as much as I do, so please hurry. I will be waiting for you at Half Moon.
Your sister, Syl
Syl turned around, and Raina quickly took her eyes off the paper.
“Sorry, can I help you?” She said, rolling up the note.
“Yeah, uh...” Raina started. She felt weird, trying to repeat what she said.
“Do I know you?” Raina asked.
Syl thought for a moment. “No, you don’t.”
She seemed to realize that they had matching bracelets. She jumped up, making Raina lose balance.
Chapter 2: Sylvania
Syl knew that it wasn’t worth waiting if she found the Lock. The prophecy had proved her right.
The Quest shall go east
So found at the peace
As small as it mattered,
The cause it shall be.
And let will Teah.
The group has never even tried to interpret it, making excuses about it being dangerous to interpret. Syl didn’t believe that.
She had purposely written the letter, then, to see if Raina understood it. Obviously, she didn’t. that was big news to her, because everyone in Half Moon knew. And only people from Half Moon was here. No mortals.
Syl was the daughter of Kaprin, the goddess of good magic. The builder of this ship, Jace, was the son of Peten, the god of feelings and dreams.
“I’m Sylvania,” She told Raina. “We’re all from Half Moon. Because we have bracelets. If you knew anything, you would know about the Lock and Key. Do you?” Syl said hopefully.
“No...” Raina said carefully. “But I do know that I’m the daughter of Teah, whoever that is.”
Syl smacked her forehead. The daughter of Teah, the life goddess? Maybe it was false, but Syl couldn’t assure herself. The Prophecy, She kept thinking.
Syl tried not to show her worried look on her face. She got Raina and told orders on going to Half Moon again. Everyone looked surprised and startled, and Syl felt sorry for them. But she felt the need for going to Half Moon again.
“We have to go,” She told Jace in an exasperated voice. “There’s something I need to explain to Raina!”
Jace shook his head. “But, we can’t just all of a sudden, get the crew to start heading to Half Moon.” He said tiredly. “I mean, we’ve come so far!”
Chapter 3: Lyla
Lyla waited for Syl to arrive at Half Moon. Someone had said that Raina had gone missing. She wasn’t completely sure who Raina was, and most of Half Moon didn’t even know. No one seemed to be a friend of this Raina. She hoped Syl, her sister, had known Raina.
She waited for Syl at the edge of Half Moon and she heard footsteps. “Hello, Aura.” She said. Aura had brown hair that glistened gold in the bright daylight. She turned around and Aura smiled.
“Hi. Is Jace coming back soon?” She asked with a soft smile. Jace was her big brother, because she was also a daughter of Peten. She was the optimist in Half Moon. The sun began to set as the clouds turned orange.
“Pete’s on the ship, too.” I told her. Pete was a son of Camoya, the goddess of secrets. Most people didn’t like to be around Pete, because he could was a little bit rough. But if you get to know him, like Aura did, he’s a really nice guy.
“What?” Aura nearly yelled. Pete was her ‘boyfriend’, and she was very fond of him. Even though Pete didn’t like to be looked as weak.
Lyla continued staring at the horizon. The sun had almost sunk and it was turning night. The ship still didn’t come. Lyla so badly wanted to use her Light Stones to call Syl, but she couldn’t waste them. Though, her hands reached inside her pockets to the Light Stones.
“Do you know who Raina is?” The words slipped out of her mouth before she could catch them. As expected, Aura shook her head. “No,” She said.
Lyla looked down and fiddled with her Light Stones. Am went away and Melody and Rhythm came. Rhythm was a “cool” tomboyish girl, and she liked to hang out with the boys. Melody was girl like Rhythm. Though she had more fashion sense. People used to say that they were perfect together. Rhythm was good at dancing and Melody had a good sense of fashion. They always stuck around together from then on. Oh, by the way, Melody likes to be called Mel.
“Hey, Lyla.” Rhythm waved at me. A waved back.
Melody came and sat down next to me. “So, whatcha thinking?” She asked, as usual.
I mumbled something that I, myself, probably didn’t hear. Then I spoke up louder.
“I’ve been hearing rumors about a girl named Raina. Ever heard of her?”
Surprising, Rhythm nodded like this was nothing special. “Sure, she was on the ship. I got a Lightstone call from Jace.” She said.
Mel, surprised, looked at Rhythm. “You have? Why haven’t you told Am yet?”
Chapter 4: Raina
Raina uncomfortably knocked the door. Syl came and greeted her, but there was a worried look plastered on her face. Behind her, was a tall boy that had wispy dark blue hair. He had normal jeans on, with a sky blue jacket hiding his Half Moon shirt.
“Uh, hi.” I said quietly. I doubted that he heard me, though. Except the boy heard me.
“Oh, hi! I’m Jace.” He said. He smiled a smile that people call “light up the room”.
Syl took one look at me and turned to Jace. “Jace, we really need to hurry to Half Moon! It’s really important! She-- she lost her memory!” She exclaimed, gesturing at me. I gave her a puzzled look, which just proved her right.
Jace sighed, looking unsure what to do. He shifted uncomfortably in his chair. He glanced at the map and looked back up at us. “Fine,” He said quietly. “Fine, you can go. But...” He looked down at his shoes.
Syl sighed.. Before she could say anything, Raina said, “But what?”. Raina didn’t think it really matter, though, if we were going to go anyways.
“But...” He took a small breath. “But, you’re gonna have to go yourselves on a small boat. I mean--” He could barely finish his sentence before Syl interrupted him.
“What do you mean?” She yelled. The whole room shook. I wanted to give her a hand and calm her, but my senses told me to keep out.
“I mean, everyone’s tried so hard to come all this way.” He said. Syl shrugged. Raina backed away a little bit.
Raina thought that they would either get into a fight, or hate each other, but she soon realized that Half Moon people weren’t all about that. In fact, they were usually very agreeable. So you would understand why Raina started to feel fit in.
Syl rolled her eyes playfully. She shook Jace’s hand, and literally dragged Raina to the big boat. It was quite small compared to the ship, but it was pretty big by size. Raina protested that she left her suitcase behind, but Syl reassured her that she would be getting fresh new clothes soon.
Raina didn’t hope this would end soon. She knew it would end soon. All the time, time went fast. She doubted this would do much different.
Of course, she was wrong. She only thought so simply.
Chapter 5: Sylvania
Syl kept thinking a little boat wasn’t such a great idea. It was harder to control than a huge boat with crew members. Here, there was only a matter of time before this boat either sunk or broke, She tried to use her magic to pull it together and move fast. Levitating was still too hard for her.
Syl continued to row the boat while Raina fell asleep. She looked at her small shoulder bag, and took a wet sandwich from it. She took a rest, getting the sea animals and seawater spirits to pull the boat along. She hoped for land soon.
In her dream, she saw a picture of Lyla and Rhythm, sitting together. They were talking about Raina, and they had begun to glow. When they were glowing as bright as a sun, they started to float a little bit. Rhythm, looking surprised, tried to get back down, but even the daughter of Mystle couldn’t even handle the magic. It was familiar to Syl. It was a thick layer of magic cast on them, trying to take them somewhere. She hoped strongly that Lyla could feel it too. In her dreams, she couldn’t do anything. It was like watching a Lightstone call.
She woke up and the boat nearly broke. Raina was already awake and the water spirits had started to fall asleep, sensing her awake.
“Land,” Raina muttered softly, pointing at a patch of darker gray in the light fog. As they came out of the fog, the water became more clear and she could see Half Moon, the wonderful city for demigods like them. Syl rubbed her eyes and watched as the sun brightly came up, greeting them widely. On the edge of her sight, Raina smiled.
“That’s Half Moon?” She asked, mystified and strangely, surprised. Syl twisted her backpack, and undid it again quickly. “Yeah,” Syl muttered softly. Her voice cracked.
“You ‘kay?” Raina asked softly, realizing the homesickness in her voice. She had been lonely all the time, in charge of everything. Now she had come back. She hoped that Jace would come to Half Moon again soon. She decided to give him a Lightstone call as soon as she met up with Lyla and Rhythm. She hoped they were okay.
Chapter 6: Lyla
Okay, fine, she didn’t know that Syl was here already. She was just walking up the hill, after a strange dream that morning. The dream showed Rhythm and her, being “kidnapped”. But…
Rhythm promised her to meet them at the Councilors’ Cafeteria, at the Coco Café. Lyla stood there, leaning on the cake display stand. She bought pancakes and snacked on it, waiting for Rhythm.
She looked at her Lightstones, who were urging her to make a call, again. She had made a Lightstone call last night to Jace, the trusty ship builder, and he’d said that Syl left and would probably be back today, morning. She still haven’t saw any sign of Syl.
In her letter, Syl said nothing about Raina. Jace said it all like he was comfortable with it. She hoped he’d give her more information. He didn’t.
Rhythm came, running fast… at last. She barely greeted Lyla, and explained what happened.
“There’s this… ghost,” She explained, swinging her sword side to side. “His name’s Dominic.” She talked about the ghost looming over her, in the lamp light. He had barely frightened her and became sworn enemies. Eventually, Rhythm found out that he was part of the “Furites”. Rumor says that’s their secret identity, except we figured it out.
Anyway, I was still thinking about Raina when she heard people suddenly go out of the café. People were crowding around the dock, surprised, and Syl came back with a girl, who looked confused. The girl had brown, wavy hair in a ponytail, and she was an average size. Her eyes were hard to tell, but she knew they were brown. She had light toned skin color.
But what was most surprising was that they weren’t in a ship.
They had decided to travel by a small boat, different from how big the ship is. The boat itself was weak, too. It had barely pulled itself together using Syl’s magic, and it was already tearing. Syl took the girl’s hand and jumped out of the boat. People crowded them, asking them various questions. She wondered if the girl was Raina.
Rhythm went to see. She dropped her earphones and the people made way for her. She walked up to the girl, and Lyla followed.
“Hello, Raina.” She said, her voice small. Though everybody else her. They started whispering and muttering to each other, like, “That’s the girl?” and “She’s the one?” Raina look uncomfortable.
Rhythm shook her hand, and Raina’s shoulders relaxed. Losing interest, the crowd disappeared. Only they left. Lyla looked around, and realized Aura and Melody was there too. Also, the kid with loosely braided hair—Celeste. She walked up to Raina.
“Long time, since we’ve seen each other, right?” She asked Raina with a smile. Raina looked confused at first, then smiled. She laughed. Everybody looked at them strangely.
“Oh, Celeste!” She cried happily, hugging her. Then Raina finally let go and smiled. “I’m so happy to see you!”
Syl was the first to speak up. “Hey, you know Celeste? How?” She asked, confused.
Celeste smiled at Raina, then at Syl. She glanced at Raina and said, “We were raised together, since we were separated. From an unknown person.” She said, still smiling. Her braided hair flew in the wind and over her shoulder.
Rhythm smiled. “Welcome to Half Moon, then!” She cried. But something seemed wrong to Lyla.
Chapter 7: Raina
Raina felt so glad she finally met someone she knew. Celeste was like her sister, except she wasn’t. She hoped she was.
“Hold on a second, you’re not new here, are you?” The girl with brown hair said. Obviously she was Lyla, the sister of Syl. They looked alike.
“Of course I—“ Raina started to say. Then her head started to ache a little bit. She frowned, then it soon got away. “I… don’t know,” She said uncertainly.
Celeste looked around nervously, like she was worried someone was hearing. “Magic…” She said to herself, but Raina could hear her.

Re: Daughter of Life
Okay... so I sort of decided to change the whole story. Not the characters, but the story.
Summary: It's about a girl who lost her memory, and almost everybody else don't know her, but she belongs with them. When she realizes that she's important, she joins a mission that might kill her. She earns a "Lock", a "Key", and some memory.
