Embarking on the Quest

Jake streatched, bored. "Yah, yah. I'm ready."

Kris pulled her legs off the dashboard and rubbed her eyes, staying alert.

"Hey- want some hot cocoa, that'll wake you up." Jake offered, taking a sip himself.

"nah, i am good." She looked back at him

(its still summer on the site you know...)
Wes dug for a dew, wanting it insted.

(i know... but cocoa's good and coffee's gross... i almost offered that.)

"Whatever." He said, putting it away.

Right when Wes found a dew, she jolted her head to a figure she saw move in the dense darkness.

Jake ran a finger along his shield rim, then ducked behind it trying to find his short sword.

Kris caught sight of the movement and placed her finger to her ring.

Wes set the dew on the seat and put her hands together in her lap, ready to turn her wristbands. The figure seemed to float as it turned. Another figure formed that flew close to them. a jolt went through the car as Wes spun her wristbands, jumping out of the (t-bird) on the opposite side, landing with her bow readied, staying low.

Jake turned around, shield held infront of him, slightly above the hood of the truck as he drew his sword.

Kris got out of the truck, running her thumb over the jewls on her ring instantly. She stood by the door with sword (the bottom pic in siggy) in hand.

Kiki jumped out and got her sword at the ready.

(hahah yeah I have no clue whats going on.)

Wes rolled to her right and came up next to the corner of the bed. Making out the figure of a humanoid that hovered about three yards away from the car, with his feet at the same elevation as the top of the car, Wes shot an arrow. At the same time, another progectile flew at the front tire, blowing it.

"We have to move away from the truck." Kris yelled at the others

"I agree, the risks outway the benefits in this scenario." Wes yelled back as the truck was shot yet again, this time shattering a window.

Kris covered her face with her arms for the window that shattered was the drivers side window. "Everyone get away from the truck!" Kris ran from the truck just as it was hit and another window shattered

Wes dashed away from the truck, shooting another arrow at the being. From the distance, she noticed the flung objects took the shape of needles, "manticore" she mumbled under her breath.

"Lovely" she muttered as she grabbed her stuff from the bed of the truck and ran. She took out her collapsible shield and got it up just in time to block a spike. "Ow! These things hit hard!!"

"yeah, add that to the poisen." Wes shot another arrow, "Jake- you gotta have some sort of night vision goggles or something with you..."

"Yes, because I carry every gadjet known to man along with me!" Jake shouted sarcastically as he braced his shield with his arm to keep from hurting his wrist. "We're getting no where like this!" Jake shouted, rushing forward, shield in front. "Cover me!"

"You should!" Wes shouted back, "it would be convinent!" As Jake ran, another spike shot near the bottom of the truck, causing it to flip and start rolling. Wes shot a couple arrows, then spun to avoid a return fire.

"Thats it.." she said sheathing her sword. She reached into her packs and got out a celestial bronze crossbow and quiver. "I'm shooting this thing."

(thought. Why hasnt anyone made a celestial bronze GUN?? it would be so damn convienient....)

(in my story, Jake had a gun with celistial bronze bullets.. but i didnt give it back to him yet... ^^\ )

"Then hurry up about it and dont hit me!"
Jake shouted, his shield arm was hurting from all the pounds, but he was getting some good hits too.

Wes jumped away from another spike, then shot two arrows at once, the top at his head, the other to the torso. In turn, the monster shot several spikes at each of them in a double spin.
