Training time.

Coren was practicing swordplay, as usual. He would probably be reading some old scrolls in the Athena cabin, but he heard something about a training accident or something, and some people were already there. He slashed through another of the little training dummies with Caladfwlch, piercing it's armor easily. "That makes... Wait, I lost count..." Coren decided to sit down for a little bit. He wanted to count the destroyed dummies, but his mind was elsewhere. He sat down on a nearby bench, and started humming the first thing that came to mind.

Ross was watching kids practice sword play in the arena. He wasn't a swordsmen himself for he found few opponents could withstand a good whack to the head with his hammer. He saw one of the kids walk over and sit on the side of the arena. Ross decided he would attempt to talk to the kid. He walked over to him and said "Hello"

Coren turned to him, and did a little wave. "Hello." Coren sat up a little straighter, and sheathed Caladfwlch, which he'd forgotten to do. "The name's Coren Keitaro. What's up?"

"Ross Anima" Ross said. "That seemed like it was some well executed sword play" He said.

Coren shrugged. "I practice a lot." He stood up and stretched out his neck for a second, and decided to look over the dead dummies. "Eleven..." Most of them had stab wounds, but they weren't nearly as lethal as Coren had hoped.

"Is that how many you chopped up?" Ross asked. Ross examined the other demigods intention aura. He seemed disinterested and pondering other things.

"Yeah." he hadn't noticed he'd spoken aloud, but he didn't really care either. "So, what're you doing here? You don't really look much of the swordsman."

"Well, I haven't been assigned activities yet so I'm sort of just wandering around aimlessly. I've done some of the stuff from time to time but there isn't much else to do" Ross said.

Coren shrugged again. "I see you're point. So, who's your parent?" Coren tapped on Caladfwlch's sheath, slightly peeved at the fact he probably would've lost in a real fight against that many people.

Ross hesitated for a second then said "Themis titanis of Divine law and order"

Coren nodded. "Cool. My mother's Athena, goddess of wisdom. Hey, I don't suppose we could spar? I think my ego just got kicked in the balls from the fact I couldn't kill all of the dummies."

"Well, I don't actually use a sword. A hammer is more my speed" Ross said. Happy that he wasn't shut down when Coren realized he is a Demititan.

Coren smiled. "Awesome. Almost everyone uses swords here, something new might be a little fun."

"Except I can't really duel you effectively without breaking your skull open" Ross stated.

"..." Coren seemed to be frozen in thought. "Hmm... You have a point. And that would probably hurt. Though there's always headgear, and the fact that hammers are much slower than swords." Coren shrugged.

"Yes its slower, but in order to be an effective hammer user you have to know when the opportunity to strike is right. You have to close the distance almost instantly and deliver a quick blow to the head or any body part really. There is no blocking involved its not the same thing" Ross said.He pulled the hammer out of the hook he had made for it so it would hang from his side and showed it to Coren.

"I guess you have a point there. Too bad, I wanted to see what would happen if I fought you..." Coren sat back down, still contemplating on what to do next.

"I guess I could try my hand with a sword. I wouldn't be much of an opponent though" Ross stated.

"I'm pretty sure you'll be a better one than a bunch of stuffed playthings." Coren then stood up.

This isn't going to be good Ross thought. "Do you have a sword for me to use?"

Coren took out Caladfwlch. "Use this. It's much better than a normal sword, so it might make up for the fact you use hammers."

"Um thanks" Ross sheathed his hammer in his weird sheath thing and took the sword. "Ok, what are you going to use?"

Coren walked over to the weapon rack, and chose a sword around the same size as Caladfwlch. "That sword you're holding, Caladfwlch, is pretty good. It should weigh whatever feels good for you." Coren spun the sword he was holding, but screwed up because of the shortness of the handle. "You ready?"

"Ready as I'll ever be" Ross found that what Coren said was true. The sword felt comfortable in his hand.

Coren dashed forward, and swung it to the side. He kept an eye on Ross's free hand, just in case.
