Trying New Things...

Skipper held the new sword she had received the other day. She had figured that she would need something other than her bow. Daggers were for people who were quick on their feet, and so Skipper was, but the sword she now held had called to her. She held it. It felt heavier than her bow but was still a suitable weapon. Four feet of celestial bronze, leather hilt, thin and light. Time for some dummy practice, she thought, grinning. She began slashing away at the practice dummies.

Time flew like wind for Skipper. A few hours felt like three minutes. She wiped the sweat off of her brow and continued. By sundown, all of the dummies had been reduced to ruins on the ground of the arena.

A wide grin was on Dominics face as he watched Skipper reduced the dummies to nothing but scraps. He had come down to practice his archery on a few targets, but when he saw Skipper he couldn't help but take a seat and watch her go.
At one point he began to play a rock song on his guitar, matching the swings her sword with the chords of the song.

Skipper heard him as soon as he walked in. She looked at him skeptically "Amusing much?" she asked

((OOC: Alright...now it's kind of obvious that she has a huge crush on him -_-))

'Couldn't help it. You with a sword against an army of dummies. It was too epic to ignore. It needed a sound track.' He said with a broad grin on his face before it suddenly filled with alarm.
'Oh wait look out!' He called out and strummed his guitar in the opposite direction. It twisted in his hands, forming the shape of a large bronze crossbow, before he pointed it at Skipper and fired.
A bolt sailed through the air and soared over her head, striking a decapitated dummy and knocking it to the ground.
'He was coming at you with a knife. Theres no need to thank me.' He chuckled before struming the string of his crossbow causing it to turn back into a guitar.

ooc: She does? Whoa, totally didn't see that coming

((Wow...are you like love-blind or something? She totally digs him, man...because he looks like Steve Byers!...Lol.))

"Oh so that's how you wanna play it?" she asked "Sure...I'll go for some duel." as Dominic started to get up to challenge her, she knocked him down with wind, strung her bow, and held it to his throat

'Duel? Wait, whats happening?' Dominic began before letting out a yelp as he was knocked back onto the ground behind him by a strong wind. He barely even had time to reach for his guitar before she stood over him with her bow to his throat.
'Have mercy?' He asked timidly.

"You wish." she laughed sarcastically. She was pushing on letting go of the arrow but she was basically just toying with him. She, who was extremely stupid for doing so, lowered the bow. She kept it strung, though...just in case Dominic got any...funny ideas.

'Whoa whoa. I'm not going to do anything to encourage your wrath. That would be a dumb thing to do.' He said, holding up his hands in a surrender position.
Then his guitar flew into his hand.
He struck the strings and at that moment the air around them became filled with noise. A loud crashing white noise that pounded at Skippers ear drums. It wouldn't deafen her or turn her to dust like it did with the monsters, but it would give Dominic the chance he needed.
He sprung forwards and tackled her, letting his guitar fall so that he could grab her bow and prevent an arrow going off in his face.
He pinned her down. Grinning at her smugly.
'So does this mean you're not grateful for me saving you from the evil dummy that was going to sneak up on you?' He asked with a chuckle.

Skipper looked at him pleadingly "Don't...hurt...me..." she gasped

Dominic instantly let go and recoiled like he had been shocked with electricity, 'Whoa. I'm sorry did I hurt you?'

Skipper held her sword up to his neck and backed him up into the wall "Of course not!" she laughed

'Oh now that is just unfair.' Dominic groaned, but a smile broke out over his face, 'You got me with one of the oldest tricks in the book. Curse my chivalry.' He said with a sigh before holding up his hands in a surrender gesture.

Skipper lowered her weapon, ready for him to strike.

'You got me girl. I'm out of tricks.' Dominic said with a smile, still holding up his hands in surrender, 'I've got no weapon and my dear old dad hasn't told me what powers I possess yet so this victory is yours.'

Skipper looked satisfied. Dominic's weapon floated up from the ground by pure wind and into his hand "Go again?" she asked

'Against my better judgement. Yes' Dominic said before taking his guitar, 'Oh wait. Hang on a second.' He spoke before running to the steps and picking up a small metal shield no bigger than a dinner plate. He strapped it to his wrist and flexed his arm to check if it was on tight. The shape of the shield was smooth and pointed like an arrow head.
'Now I got my buckler on I may be able to at least block a hit.' Dominic spoke before walking towards her, strumming the strings of his guitar with the edge of the buckler and transforming it into a crossbow.

ooc: I'm afraid the conclusion will have to wait, I gotta go

((*Sobs* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!...o-key.))

Skipper didn't really want a sheild. She hated sheilds. But...whatever...she just wouldn't have one. She went straight for his side.

His arms sank and a clanging sound rang through the arena as his buckler intercepted the blow. He grinned broadly and raised the cross bow, daring her to make a move. This time he was playing for keeps.

Skipper, frustratedly, kept striking. After a few minutes of random sparring, she felt a sharp pain run through her upper arm a few inches down from her shoulder. "Ow!" she said when she realized he had cut her pretty bad and that she was now plain gushing blood.
((It took me, like, forever to think of that post...))

Dominic was exhausted. He had fights and had occasionally practiced his archery, but he was no gladiator. He couldn't hold his own agains someone like Skipper. It was no wonder that Kris kept snapping at him for neglecting his training.
When Skipper started bleeding Dominic froze before making a time-out gesture with his hands.
'You're bleeding.' He panted and pointed at her with his buckler arm. What had once been a light shield now felt like it weighed a hundred tons, 'I have no idea how you're bleeding, but you're bleeding.' Dominic panted before dropping his crossbow and tugging off his buckler.

"Thanks for noticing." she said with a chuckle as the cut slightly expanded. It was an extremely deep gash.

'Oh grow up I've probably got internal bleeding from when you decided to wind blast me.' Dominic said with a chuckle before motioning for her to follow him. He lead her to a stone bench ove by the walls of the arena before sitting her down.
'Now I don't have any bandages, but seeing as how it is my fault, even though you totally started it, I'll make the sacrifice.' He said before reaching down to the bottom of his t-shirt and tearing a huge chunk off it before wrapping it around the wound.

Skipper raised her eyebrows. "Okay?..." she said "And you didn't have to do that...by the way."

'Why not? It shows my chivalrous side.' Dominic said with a grin, 'You're not embarassed are you?'

Skipper looked at him like saying Really? "D'you think I'm the kind of person that gets embarassed that easily?" she asked
