Trying New Things...

Dominic growled in frustration. The sweat was dripping off him. The sun shining down on them was transforming the area into a sahara desert heat wave.
'Fine!' Dominic yelled before glaring at the sun, 'I'm sorry! Shut off the heat wave Dad!'

The air ran through Skipper's lungs again "Jeez! And you would think that I always had fresh air!" she exclaimed "But...thanks."

'That was humiliating.' Dominic muttered, 'The first time the guy pays attention to me and its because I insulted the magic tricks I inherited from him.'

Skipper started choking again "Don't...you...dare...say...that!" she gasped

'Cut it out!' Dominic yelled at the sky, 'What is with you?! Stop being so petty!'

Bad choice. It got worse. Air choked through her throat "You...made...it....wor-" she was cut off. She couldn't talk. She couldn't breathe. She fell to her knees.

'I hate you.' Dominic snarled at the sky, 'I'm sorry for insulting you.' He growled, 'But I hate you.'

The air went back to normal. Not completely...but enough that Skipper could breath "That sucked..." she muttered "Jeez...is your dad just playing with the temperature or something?"

He's being a jerk thats what he's doing., he thought but didn't say anything in case he brought on Apollo's wrath once again.
'Sorry. Had no idea that would happen.' Dominic muttered.

"No one does...." she said "But...oh well...so, spar again?"

'I've got my dad watching so I may as well vent some frustration.' Dominic mumbled before pulling out his guitar again and transforming it into a crossbow, 'To arms Skipper.'

Skipper strung her bow and pulled out her dagger. Before Dominic could do ANYTHING, she went for his legs.

Dominic felt his legs give way as Skipper attacked and fell to the ground. He rolled to one side, ignoring the pain that coarsed through them, and lifted his crossbow. He breathed in and felt time slow down as it had done the first time he had used the crossbow. His fingers pressed at the trigger several times and in that moment four bolts flew from the weapon and soared towards Skipper.

Skipper avoided two of them. One hit her in the cheek, the other in the foot. She shot an arrow and while Dominic was distracted with the arrow she went at him with her sword. When you hang around a bunch of Athena kids for almost your whole life at one tiny camp you start to learn some wicked battle tactics.

'Shoot.' He cursed and stepped back, trying to raise the crossbow, but Skipper was too quick. By the time he managed to knock the arrow out of them air Skipper was upon him with her sword raised.

"Surrender or hang out with Athena Kids more often?" she asked

'That doesn't make any sense.' Dominic spoke as he looked up at her. He was now lying on the ground with a sword in his face.
'Fine. I give.' He muttered.

Skipper lifted her sword. When he was about to get up she put it onto his neck again "Having fun?" she laughed

'Are you going to let me up or are you just going to keep embarassing me in front of my old man?' Dominic asked with a grunt.

"Embarassing." said Skipper

'You're a mean girl.' Dominic said playfully, a smile breaking out over his face.

"Mean or clever?" she asked

'Mean.' Dominic growled, 'Clever would have been disarming me as well.' Dominic spoke before lifting the buckler before his eyes.
'Shine.' He whispered before the buckler lit up, burning as bright as a star. He heard her yelp and lunged forwards, slamming into her and tackling her to the ground before pinning her down.
'Surrender?' Dominic asked as he grinned down at her.

Cynthia ran over to them."I'm not here just have to tell Skipper something very exciting your not allowed to know but I'll say a small bit! It's about Alexis."Cynthia said. "Skipper! come here."

Dominic stared at Cynthia. He was now aware that he was on top of a girl with another girl watching them. He felt embarassed, but yet his pride didn't want him to let up.
'Er...can you tell Skipper after she's done surrendering to me?' Dominic asked before turning to Skipper and giving her a questioning glance.
